I would like to thank presenters and all the Tenkara Boot Camp participants, for attending. Unfortunately it was a windy day, and we were forced to stay indoors. But it was a full day of a lot of information. In the morning, Chris Leonard gave us some tips on fishing at Hot Creek and other local streams. Matt Sment, a nomadic tenkara fisher, who spent 4 months on the road and conquered the West Coast with a tenkara rod, shared a lot of tips and "scoops" on hook-setting techniques. Frank Burr presented his research on golden trouts. In the afternoon, Dr. Robert Worthing took over and gave the most engaging and lively presentation. He covered everything you need to know from fish to fishers. The information we gained from the event was priceless. For more than 20 years of fly fishing and tenkara experience combined, I have learned a lot from our presenters and attendees. It was a lot of great information for all attendees. I heard that at least 90% if not all, attendees plan to be back to the Boot Camp 2020. Boot Camp 2020 will include fly tying and other hands-on activities.
Some participants from out of state express interested for having the boot camp in their states.
