Tenkara Tanuki Goes to Italy

I am so excited and honored to be part of the tenkara show in the beautiful Riva del Garda in the Alpine region of northern Italy. Italians have been fishing in their version of tenkara called Valsesiana for centuries. It is practiced with rods that are 4 or so meters long, and they use horsehair for the line.

I am even more honored and humbled having been featured with the great master Tenkara-no-Oni, Masami Sakakibara, on the Italian poster. I am so lucky and proud to have Masami-sensei as my teacher. You will be hearing about this trip soon enough.
